Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Register and learn about SAAM events to show your support for student academic well-being. When staff and faculty participate, it sends a powerful message to students that we care about their safety, healing, and well-being. On Denim Day, we also encourage you to wear jeans as a visible sign of solidarity and share your support by tagging @shareatstanford on instagram.

Cara

Hello! My name is Cara Steele (she/her) and I am a sophomore studying English and Art Practice. I’m passionate about sexual health education and empowering individuals to find safety and pleasure in sexual experience. Pelagia Martin

Pelagia

Hello! My name is Pelagia (she/her) and I am a sophomore biology major from Emerald Isle, North Carolina! This is my first year at the SHARE office, and I am very passionate about women's health and increasing access to sexual health and violence education. Women's health is community health, and more access to education and support resources will grow our community as a whole. I hope for a career in virus research and pandemic prevention, and in my free time I enjoy reading, going to concerts, and spending time in nature. I look forward to working with you this year!

Sofia Penglase

Hello! My name is Sofia Penglase (she/her/hers) and I am a senior double majoring in Public Policy and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Human Rights. In addition to my work with the SHARE Office, I’ve worked as a research assistant for the Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab and served in the ASSU Executive Cabinet as the co-director of Sexual Violence Prevention. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I’m hoping to pursue a law degree to pursue public interest work in the field of gender-based violence.

Zoya Fasihuddin

Hi! My name is Zoya (she/her), and I am a Junior from Pakistan studying Economics and Human Rights at Stanford. This is my second year working at the SHARE Office, and I am extremely passionate about preventing and removing the stigma around sexual violence in both the college campus and global contexts. I’m interested in the intersection of policy, human rights, and corporate social responsibility, and hope to work within these fields when I graduate. In my free time, I enjoy FaceTiming with my family, reading fiction, and curating playlists!
